2017, digital collages

Webcams show a small slice of reality. Strangers set them up in places they find interesting. Embarking on a journey via our computer, tablet or smartphone, we have no control over what part of the world we will see. We can remain passive spectators, or we can opt out of the game, refusing to accept manipulation.

I change the rules of the game and browse through webcam photos to choose places that seem interesting to me. I download photos taken by a vending machine and use a graphics program to encapsulate hours, days and months into a single image condensing time. Photography stops an infinitely short moment and extends it at will. I turn an arbitrarily long time into a single moment.
